Other Music
90 Winthrop Street - Cambridge, MA 02138 (617) 491-4419 I've only been to the Cambridge, MA store. It's very interesting to browse their bins. It's very eclectic but decidedly not mainstream. Just looking at their sections gives you a good tip-off that you are not in your fathers record store (In, Out, La Decadanse?). The staff is excellent and very helpful without the attitude you might expect from a shop that is on the edge. |

12B Eliot Street - Cambridge, MA 02138 (617) 354-6898 The first time I went to this store I freaked. I didn't recognize 90% of what they carried. Was I that out of touch or where they that in touch? A little of both I hope. While it doesn't really cater to Ambient music it is decidedly the king of the avant garde. Very strong in modern classical and experimental music. A large selection of vinyl gems as well. A great place to browse and make new discoveries. Like Other Music they categorize by genre, there are not many stores where you will come across a Moog section. |
