Warning, pretentious prattle to follow! DJ Ambient is primarily a site devoted to Ambient music. What is Ambient music? I doubt many would agree with my definition but, to me, Ambient music encompasses a vast spectrum of sound that may be musical in nature or simply sounds within an environment. |

Whether created by musical instruments, computers, or the steady stroke of an engine - what the sounds need to have in common is that they are non-intrusive. They should merge with the overall surroundings to the point where the sound is not noticed by itself but is a part of the whole environment. I like to think of it much like the atmosphere, it's all around you but you are not consciously aware that you are breathing the air, or feeling the constant micro-fluctuations of temperature, wind, air pressure, etc. |

Please explore the rest of the site. I hope to expand on this site to make it a resource center for not only music. I’ll post reviews of recordings I find interesting as well as those submitted by visitors. Most of the images and recording on this site are my property and should not be copied or re-distributed without permission. A simple email will likely secure permission though! |
